PANAGIA CHRYSOPOLITISSA. ANCIENT RUINS.

Panagia Chrysopolitissa -   church and ancient ruins. An archaeological site in Paphos, discovered around 1970. When construction began near the church, the construction crew unexpectedly discovered ruins, which turned out to be part of the ancient Roman forum, as well as some of the oldest Byzantine ruins, mosaics and columns discovered in Cyprus. The church works even today. In 2013, a special ramp leading around the circle was built for tourists. The remains of ancient buildings are clearly visible from the wooden path. Currently, the church belongs to the Anglicans.
