NORTHERN CYPRUS. THE UNDISCOVERED OASIS OF CYPRUS

Cyprus has been a coveted land since ancient times, so there was no shortage of enemies and conquerors. The island was attacked both from the Middle East and from the North. The Byzantines, ancient Romans and Venetians who came to the island expanded very rapidly on the Northern coast of Cyprus. Today you can admire the magnificent castles and cities surrounded by defensive walls. The medieval buildings preserved in the old towns and suburbs are breathtaking... Until 1974. thanks to its sandy beaches, the city of Famagusta was known all over the world. It was a resort called the Las Vegas of Europe, where world celebrities of that time went on vacation. Magnificent hotels, casinos, restaurants, cafes, white soft beaches - they were the pride of Cyprus.

After the Turkish occupation in 1974, the rich and famous resort became the subject of controversy, after which the city turned into a ghost town. The tourist part of Famagusta, called Varosha , is abandoned and empty to this day. Despite this, Famagusta continues to attract tourists. The old town amazes with its architectural heritage, cozy streets tempt you to walk and look at the souvenir shops.

Although occupied, but safe and especially pleasant for tourists, Northern Cyprus surprises not only with its architecture, but also with its untouched wildlife. You can discover all this by traveling by car, and for those who do not dare to drive on the left side of the road, we even offer several excursion programs with professional guides (due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to check whether the trips are taking place)
